During my time at ILM, I had the opportunity to work on some of the first-ever immersive environments for the Apple Vision Pro which we created by following a uniquely curated pipeline. We combined our internal Stagecraft pipeline with an experimental USD workflow to create these. Below are two of my favorite environments from this project!
Pixar Scare Floor Immersive Environment
For this set, most 3D assets were provided to us, and we were tasked with texturing, lighting, and rendering the scene based on concept art of the scare floor. I was responsible for mostly all of the texturing, shading, and UV work in the scene. I also played a significant role in the lighting, as well as the technical optimization. I utilized Substance Painter, Vray, 3DS Max, and Maya.
Marvel Avengers Tower Immersive Environment
For this set, most 3D assets were provided, and we were tasked with texturing, lighting, and rendering the scene based on a much looser concept than the Pixar Scare floor. It was a more collaborative effort with about 2 ~ 4 artists working on it throughout the length of the project. I played a significant role in the Texturing, Shading, Lighting and overall lookdev of the scene, as well as the technical optimizations.
